If your computer is displaying symbols different from what you're typing, the issue may be related to the language input setting chosen during the initial setup. You have most likely chosen "English (United States)" instead of "English (United Kingdom)." The keyboard layouts for these two countries differ, leading to the behaviour you're experiencing.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to change the input language on your device.

Here are step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process:

  1.  Click on the "Start" button in the bottom left corner.
  2. Select the gear-shaped icon to open "Settings."
  3. In the Settings window, choose "Time & Language."
  4. Click on "Language & Region."
  5. Under the "Preferred languages" section, click on "Add a language."
  6. Search for and select "English (United Kingdom)."
  7. Once added, click on the three dots next to "English (United Kingdom) and then click on "Set as default" or move it up to the top of the list.
  8. If "English (United States)" is listed, you can remove it by clicking the three dots next to it and clicking on "Remove."
  9. Click on the three dots next to "English (United Kingdom) and select "Language Options".
  10. Under the "Keyboards" section, make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected (United Kingdom - QWERTY).
  11. Restart your device to apply the changes.

After following these steps and restarting your device, your keyboard should behave as expected.
