ThinkPad Emergency Reset Button

We would recommend using the emergency reset button on the laptop which may solve the problem you're experiencing. 



To do so, please follow the steps below. 

1. Switch the laptop off completely and unplug the charger.
2. Flip the laptop upside down and locate the small reset hole (see attached photo).
3. Insert a paper-clip into this hole. There is a tiny button on the other side which will have to be pressed with the paper-clip.
4. Hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
5. Plug the charger back into the laptop and try starting it up.

Please also have a look whether any of the keys on the keyboard (likely the Caps Lock key) light up when you plug in the charger or try to switch the laptop on.
