A fan error is often caused by dust build up in the intake / exhaust vents. It's sometimes possible to fix this problem by simply blowing air into the intake and exhaust vents of the laptop. If you have an air can you can use it to clear the dust out, if not, you can simply try blowing it out with your mouth. Please make sure the laptop is turned off before you blow air into the vents.
